The librarians at AnyQuestions are trained to guide you to good, reliable information and they won’t just give you the answers, but will show you how to find them yourself. It’s a great way to learn research skills you can use for other assignments too.

StoryWalk

Enjoy Exploring Gore with the StoryWalk The StoryWalk is a fun way for children and adults to enjoy the outdoors while reading together. Pages from a children’s book are placed along a trail, turning a walk into an interactive reading adventure.

Our StoryWalk in Gore starts at the Botanic Gardens and ends at the playground on the corner of Lyne Street and Hokonui Drive.

This idea began in the United States, created by Anne Ferguson and the Kellogg-Hubbard Library, and has become a popular way to combine reading and nature.

This Season’s StoryWalk Book: Flit the Fantail and the Matariki Map

Written and illustrated by Kat Quin.

Follow Flit the fantail and Keri the kiwi as they get lost deep in the dark forest. Flit spots a cluster of stars above his nest and comes up with a clever plan to find their way home.

You can enjoy following Flit and Keri on the Gore StoryWalk from May through July 2025.

The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, Vermont, USA, and developed with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. StoryWalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.
