Join the library

Becoming a member of Gore District Libraries is easy and free if you live in the Gore District or the wider Otago/Southland region. Membership gives you access to books, magazines, DVDs, online resources, and more.

Who Can Join?

Library membership is free for residents of:

  • Gore District
  • Invercargill and Southland
  • Clutha
  • Queenstown Lakes
  • Central Otago
  • Dunedin
  • Waitaki

How to Join

  1. Complete the online membership form via our library catalogue.
  2. Bring personal identification (such as a driver’s licence, passport, or community services card) to the library.
  3. Collect your library card and start borrowing straight away.

Membership for Children and Teens

If you are under 18, a parent or guardian will need to join with you.

Your guarantor must bring their library card or photo ID.
