Becoming a member of Gore District Libraries is easy and free if you live in the Gore District or the wider Otago/Southland region. Membership gives you access to books, magazines, DVDs, online resources, and more.
Who Can Join?
Library membership is free for residents of:
- Gore District
- Invercargill and Southland
- Clutha
- Queenstown Lakes
- Central Otago
- Dunedin
- Waitaki
How to Join
- Complete the online membership form via our library catalogue.
- Bring personal identification (such as a driver’s licence, passport, or community services card) to the library.
- Collect your library card and start borrowing straight away.

Membership for Children and Teens
If you are under 18, a parent or guardian will need to join with you.
Your guarantor must bring their library card or photo ID.
