StoryWalk

Starting at the Gore Gardens, take a stroll through our lovely parks, enjoy some exercise in nature, have some whānau time, and read a great story together. At the last story board, take a selfie if you wish, and post it to our Facebook event page. Our latest story is 'The cat from Muzzle' by Sally Sutton. As a bonus activity you can download a colouring in picture here.

StoryWalk® is an international initiative that aims to get people out and about in nature together, combining the benefits of physical exercise and reading an uplifting tale to support mental health and literacy development, especially in children.

The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. StoryWalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson. StoryWalks® have been installed in 50 states and 13 countries including, Germany, Canada, England, Bermuda, Russia, Malaysia, Pakistan and South Korea! They are always received with appreciation. https://www.kellogghubbard.org/storywalk
